2 Month Stats and Shots

Well Conner is officially 2 months old and had his well baby check up on Tuesday. He is definitely a big baby as he weighs 14.4 lbs and is in the 97+% for weight, he is 24.25in long and is in the 95-97% for height and his head circumference is 41.5in which is in the 90-95%. He already is in 6 month clothes. I can't believe he is getting so big. According to the doctor he is in perfect health and development. The only questions we had for the doctor were about his bowel movements as he only has one every 4 days. She said this is not a cause for concern, but if he seems to be uncomfortable we can give him some watered down prune juice.

He also got his first set of shots at the doctor as well. He took the initial poke pretty well and only cried for a minute. But he did have an adverse reaction a couple of hours later when he just started crying inconsolably and couldn't stop for 2 hours until he finally fell asleep. It was his pain cry and was so hard to not be able to help him. The next day he was a little more fussy than usual, but has been improving ever since. We will have to talk with the doctor at his next appt (End of June) and see if we can figure out a way to help him get through the vaccinations.

Conner's first Vacation to the Ocean

We just returned from our first vacation away with Conner. We spent 3 days at my grandparent's cabin on the Washington coast and it was great to get away as a family and relax. We spent the time playing with Conner, taking naps and exploring the beach and rainforest around the area. The only difficult part of the trip was getting Conner to sleep in a new environment. For the past few weeks he has been sleeping in his swing at home - mainly because he will sleep for 6 hours straight in his swing and only 2 hours at a time in his crib. But at the cabin we were swingless and Conner was not a fan of the pack-n-play that we had with us. Eventually we got him to sleep part time in his bouncy chair and part time in bed between us. Now that we are home my goal is to get Conner used to sleeping in his crib - that means that I will not be getting a lot of sleep in the next couple of days. But hopefully in the end it will mean better sleep for both Conner and myself.

Here are a couple of pictures from our vacation:

Conner has discovered his Tongue!

I am not sure what his fascination with his tongue is, but he loves to stick it in and out and lick everything. This has just started in the last few days, but it is definitely very cute to watch him as he licks his toys and bottles and even his parents and the different expressions he makes when he experiences different tastes. Some times it is a good expression and sometimes he definitely does not like what he tastes!

We have Smiles and Giggles

Conner actually has been smiling and giggling for a few weeks now, but we have somehow missed capturing them on camera - until now. I finally have a couple of pictures of him smiling and laughing. He has such a great smile and there is nothing better than hearing him giggle.

The last few nights he will wake up at 4am, not crying but laughing and smiling at me. It is so hard to not play with him at those times as I know I need to encourage him to sleep during the appropriate sleeping times, but he is just too cute!
Here are a couple other smiling pictures - I think we have a few hundred pictures of just missed smiles.
