Thanksgiving

My parent's, Andrew, Conner and I escaped to the coast for Thanksgiving this year. We were delayed by a day due to snow and ice, but finally made it to the cabin Thursday evening. We all had a great time relaxing, reading and playing with Conner. Conner had 4 adults to dote on him and cater to his every need, as well as 3 dogs to torture, he was in heaven. It was a great vacation for Andrew and I as well, we were able to relax and read and sleep since I have 2 great parents who looked after Conner and cooked great meals for us. Conner had a blast on the beach playing with the sand, rocks and the ocean foam. It was really cold, but that didn't stop us at all.
I think we will have to make this a Thanksgiving tradition every year!

Halloween

Conner was Tigger for Halloween and loved his costume. He knows how to growl like a tiger, and can jump like a tiger too. Everytime he saw his costume he would start growling and wanted to put it on.
Conner came to trick or treat at my office the Friday before Halloween. It was a great chance to show him off to my co-workers and get him some practice saying trick or treat. By the end of the hallway he had it down and would say trick or treat and then thank you. He still doesn't know what candy is, but loved putting everything he got in his bucket.

On the actual holiday we went down to my parent's neighborhood and met up with Conner's friend Sierra and her parent's, along with my parent's and grandma and followed Conner door to door. He had so much fun and it was great to see Conner and Sierra experience their first Halloween (that they trick or treated at) together!

Pumpkin Carving

Conner loved carving pumpkins, he got his hands right inside and took all of the gunk out. He got to use the ice cream scooper to get the seeds out, but after awhile just went in with his hands.
He even tasted the pumpkin, but was not too impressed with the taste!

Andrew carved Conner's pumpkin for him but let him push out the pieces!

Seeing the pumpkin lighted up on the front porch was a highlight for Conner. Every time we left the house he would tell the pumpkins bye bye and wave. I think I have a little Halloween junkie on my hands, just like I was as a kid (and still am!).

Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weeks before Halloween we went to our local Pumpkin Patch with Conner to find some Pumpkins to carve. Conner had so much fun wandering through the patch trying to pick up pumpkins and riding in the wheel barrel. His absolute favorite part of the trip was the animal tractor train ride that they had. Conner loves trains right now and kept saying "Choo Choo" every time he saw it. He finally got to ride it all by himself (with me walking right beside just in case) and he loved it. The only problem was getting him to leave. He is definitely an almost 2 year old as he is practicing his tantrums. Over all we had a great day, with great weather, and came away with 3 pumpkins to carve!

We got Conner a Tiger Costume for Halloween and he is so excited about it. He loves to jump like a tiger and roar like a tiger!

18 Month Stats and the Park

Conner had his 18 month appt and we found out that he is a skinny tall kid, with a big head. He weighed 25.6 lbs (25th percentile) and was 33.75 in tall (between 75 and 90th percentile) with a 51 cm head (99th percentile). He is right on target for all of his developmental milestones including stringing 2 words together, walks up stairs holding on, kicks and throws a ball, and identify parts of the body. He is also on target for using "mine" and "no" correctly.

We also discovered a park that Conner really enjoys and went there all 3 days this holiday weekend.

Evergreen State Fair

We had a great time at the Evergreen State Fair today. Conner is at a great age for all of the animals, and loved going from Barn to Barn looking at all of them! The only problem came when trying to keep him from sticking his hand in the cages or running up to them and trying to pet them all. Luckily there was a petting area where he could pet all of the baby goats, chickens and cows he wanted. I think Conner's highlight was the pony ride. As soon as he sat on the pony his face lit up with a smile. He was too young for any of the rides, but next year we will be able to get him on some. It was a great family day!
